In our world, love is often misunderstood. People talk about love as if it’s a mysterious force outside our control—something we fall into or fall out of. Others treat love as something we achieve, something that validates us: if we can find the right relationship, the right status, the right affection, then maybe we’ll feel whole. However, Scripture calls us to a different kind of love—one that is steady, self-giving, and rooted in God’s very nature.
