The prophets, and now John in this book, accentuate the repeated pattern of rebellion where humans try to be God and the disastrous results. But they also show how Judgement is not enough to turn people away from evil. It requires a new tactic of the Lamb. All of these judgments against evil culminate with the questions, “Who can overcome?” and “Where is the hope of the faithful?”
